DesktopReady Service Description

1. Introduction

DesktopReady is a comprehensive Desktop-as-a-Service offering enabling flexible and scalable remote working environment by abstracting the process of building cloud desktops, simplifying adoption of cloud desktops for any type of user in your organization and eliminating any requirement of ongoing operations. This document describes the various services offered as part of DesktopReady.

2. Overview

Remote first enterprises are process oriented and tools are crucial part of the ecosystem. It is dependent on an integrated IT that is mobile, agile, and reliable. Every employee must have consistent desktop experience for the remote-first enterprise to operate efficiently. Success of a virtual desktop environment requires a complex set of skills that spans across desktops, networks, and applications. Small and midsize enterprises are looking for an all-in-one solution that can be run with lean or no IT.  

DesktopReady is a fully managed Windows 10 based click to deploy virtual desktop that offers complete data security and significantly reduces the cost of hardware refresh. It allows you to choose between shared or dedicated session and takes away the pain of provisioning, application integration, configuration, and end to end management of the complete server to screen desktop environment. 

The Service allows customers to purchase desktops on a monthly subscription. Desktops are offered in any volume allowing customers to scale up or scale down based on their business needs.

Each of these two plans have a selection of pooled and personal desktops. Based on the nature of business and compute requirements, customers can purchase desktops from the table listed below.

5. Custom desktops

Though there are a set of pre-built desktop models, DesktopReady also offers its customers to customize their desktops by picking and choosing the desktop compute and the type of disk they require. Please note this module is available for Business customers and for Personal desktops alone.

General purpose: Balanced CPU-to-memory ratio. Ideal for testing and development, small to medium databases and low to medium traffic web servers.

Burstable: Ideal for workloads that do not require the use of the full CPU all the time, but occasionally will need to burst to finish some tasks more quickly

Compute Optimized: High CPU-to-memory ratio. Good for medium traffic web servers, network appliances, batch processes and application servers

GPU: Specialized desktops powered by NVIDIA Tesla accelerated platform, targeted for heavy graphic rendering and video editing available.

Storage type: Customers can choose between “Standard HDD”, “Standard SSD” and “Premium SSD” to host the OS storage.

6. Pricing calculator

DesktopReady purchase wizard contains a pricing calculator for customers to choose their workload requirements and understand the cost for provisioning the workspace. This makes customer’s purchasing decisions a lot easier.

7. Infrastructure design

DesktopReady leverages Microsoft’s Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) as the backend technology for its desktops. For business users, dedicated Active directory and File servers are provisioned to handle user management and data storage. End users can connect to their desktops either by using browser based thin client or the end-point native client.

8. Roles

Customers are offered with different roles based on their entitlements to access different functionalities.

  • Purchaser/Admin: User who does the desktop purchase, who is also entitled to do any administrative tasks like user management and desktop allocations.
  • End user: User who uses the desktops.

9. License management

DesktopReady takes care of the infrastructure license management out of the box, allowing customers to purchase and start using the desktops right away, with flexibility to add additional end user licenses. DesktopReady allows you to access Windows 7 and Windows 10 with Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) if you have an eligible Microsoft license (Microsoft 365 F1/E3/E5/A3/A5/Business, Windows 10 Education/A3/A5, Windows 10 Enterprise E3/E5), subject to change by Microsoft. For users accessing the desktops from Non-Windows Pro endpoints (like Android devices, Mac devices, iphones and chrome books), an optional Windows Virtual Desktop Access (VDA) license can be purchased with an additional cost. Customers have an option to add Microsoft 365 Apps during the desktop purchase workflow. However, for any custom applications, customers will have to work with DesktopReady support team.

10. Image management

All the information you provide may be transferred or accessed by entities around the world as described in this Privacy Statement. In particular, ADI uses servers and service providers located in the United States. If you do not want your personal information transferred to the United States, do not use the Products.

10.1 Standard image (Prebuilt applications and policies)

Standard image comes with a set of prebuilt applications and policies setup as per Anunta’s recommendations. Customers choosing individual plan cannot customize the policies.

Prebuilt applications includes Chrome, IE, Adobe reader, 7 zip, Microsoft Edge Browser, Zoom VDI, Libra or Open Office, Print to PDF, O365 package, Sticky notes and Microsoft Defender

10.2 Custom image (Includes custom applications)

Customers can work with support team to define the custom images and assign to desktops as per their need. Custom images can have additional applications bundled up.

11. Special requirements

DesktopReady allows its customers to customize their desktops to accommodate their business needs. For any special requests, customers can reach out to DesktopReady support either by clicking on “Don't see what you need - Contact us" link in the purchase portal or by directly sending an email to support-India@DesktopReady.com support@DesktopReady.com

Some of the common use-cases includes

  • Desktop specifications other than the pre-built configuration (e.g., Additional storage and compute)
  • Enterprise AD integration
  • O365 licenses other than MS apps
  • Image management
  • OS license involving Azure hybrid benefits
  • Regions other than East US

12. Free trial

DesktopReady offers a free trail option to its customers to try out the desktop experience. Customers can avail this by clicking on the “Free trial” button available on the website and filling in a questionnaire without any commitments or sharing credit card details. The scope of this trial is for 7 days to access a personal “Power” desktop.

13. Invoicing

All purchases done on DesktopReady is in prepaid mode on a month-by-month basis and invoicing of the orders will be done during the purchase workflow. Subscription will be on “Auto-renewal” of charges, an invoice copy of the billed orders will be emailed.

Moreover, the whole set of purchased inventory and due dates for the purchases can be viewed from the Admin portal.

Your privacy is important to us. So, we've developed a Privacy Statement that covers how we collect, use, disclose, transfer, and store your personal information.

This Privacy Statement applies to Anunta Desktop Inc., a Delaware corporation, and to any affiliated companies (together, “Anunta”), and to the websites available under the domain https://www.desktopready.com (together, the “Site”).

This Privacy Statement relates to Anunta and the use of Anunta services available through the Site only (the “Products”). This Privacy Statement does not apply to use of personal information in connection with employment.

In connection with providing support, our Products, and other services, Anunta processes certain data maintained in environments that Anunta may access to perform such services (your “Content”) on behalf of and at the direction of Anunta customers and partners. Our use of such Content and related log data is subject to the terms of our Anunta DesktopReady™ Terms of Service and is not governed by this Privacy Statement. In contrast, the information we collect through our customers' and partners' use of the Site (such as names, addresses, billing information and employee contact information) and through our offline interactions with customers and partners is subject to the terms of this Privacy Statement.

1. Collection and Use of Personal Information

Personal information means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular individual or household.

You may be asked to provide your personal information any time you are in contact with Anunta. We may share this information with our affiliates and they may use it consistently with this Privacy Statement. We may also combine it with other information to provide information about our Products, services, and content. You are not required to provide the personal information that we request, but, if you chose not to do so, we may not be able to provide you with our Products or respond to any queries you may have.

1.1 What Personal Information We Collect

Here are some examples of the types of personal information Anunta may collect and how we may use it:

  • When you create a Anunta Account, purchase a Product, or contact us, we may collect a variety of information, including your name, mailing address, phone number, email address, and contact preferences.
  • We may collect personal information when you reach out to us for support, give us feedback, participate in optional surveys, product research or training and you choose to share (“Communication Information”).
  • When you invite others to participate in Anunta services or forums, Anunta may collect the information you provide about those people such as name, mailing address, email address, and phone number. Anunta will use such information to fulfill your requests, provide the relevant Product or service, or for anti-fraud purposes.
  • We may collect certain information about you when you access or use the Products. This may include:
  • Device information. We may collect information about your device such as Internet Protocol (“IP”) addresses, log information, error messages, device type, and unique device identifiers. For example, we may collect IP addresses from you as part of our sign in and security features.
  • Content. We may receive information about your business, details about your customers or vendors or employees, and other information that relates to or involves your use of Products.
  • Third-party service content. We receive information about you when you sign in to or use a third-party service using our Products. For example, when you visit a website using a virtual desktop Product, we need to know, and may record, the fact that you have connected to such website.
  • Usage information. We may collect usage information such as the pages you viewed, the features you use, your browser type and details about any links with which you interact.
  • - Location information. Certain features in our platform may collect your precise location information, device motion information, or both, if you grant permission to do so in your device settings.
  • Information from cookies and other technologies. (See Section 2 ‐ Cookies and Other Technologies, below, for more information.)
  • Information stored locally. Some of our Products may synchronize with the information on your computer. We may also store personal information locally on your device.

1.2 How We Use Your Personal Information

We collect and process personal information from you only when:

  • We have your permission to do so,
  • We need the personal information to perform a contract with you or provide a service to you,
  • Necessary to provide you with the benefits of our Products and to operate our business,
  • The processing is in our legitimate business interests, and
  • Necessary to comply with legal requirements, including applicable laws and regulations.

As particular examples, we may use your personal information as follows:

  • We may use your personal information to send important notices, such as communications about purchases and changes to our terms, conditions, and policies. Because this information is important to your interaction with Anunta, you may not opt out of receiving these communications.
    All the information you provide may be transferred or accessed by entities around the world as described in this Privacy Statement
  • The personal information we collect allows us to keep you posted on Anunta's latest product announcements, software updates, and upcoming events. If you don't want to be on our mailing list, you can opt out any time by updating your preferences or, for marketing communications, by clicking on the applicable unsubscribe buttons in each email.
  • We also use personal information to help us create, develop, operate, deliver, and improve our Products, services, and content, and for anti-fraud purposes.
  • We may use your personal information, including date of birth, to verify identity, assist with identification of users, and to determine appropriate services.
  • We may also use personal information for internal purposes such as auditing, data analysis, and research to improve Anunta's Products, services, and customer communications.
  • If we combine non-personal information with personal information, the combined information will be treated as personal information for as long as it remains combined and includes personal information.

1.3 Collection and Use of Additional Information

We also collect data in a form that does not, on its own, permit direct association with any specific individual. We may collect, use, transfer, and disclose non-personal information for any purpose. The following are some examples of non-personal information that we collect and how we may use it:

  • We may collect information such as occupation, language, zip code, area code, unique device identifier, referrer URL, location, and the time zone where a Anunta Product is used so that we can better understand customer behavior and improve our products and services.
  • We may collect information regarding customer activities on the Site and from our other Products and services. This information is aggregated and used to help us provide more useful information to our customers and to understand which parts of the Site, Products, and services are of most interest. Aggregated data is considered non-personal information for the purposes of this Privacy Statement.
  • We may collect and store details of how you use our Products. This information may be used to improve the relevancy and performance of our Products.

2. Cookies and Other Technologies

Anunta's Site, Products, email messages, and advertisements may use “cookies” and other technologies such as pixel tags and web beacons. These technologies help us better understand user behavior, tell us which parts of the Sites people have visited, and facilitate and measure the delivery of our services. We treat information collected by cookies and other technologies as non-personal information. However, to the extent that IP addresses or similar identifiers are considered personal information by local law, we also treat these identifiers as personal information.

Anunta and our partners also use cookies and other technologies to remember personal information when you use the Site or our Products. Our goal in these cases is to make your experience with Anunta more convenient and personal. For example, knowing your first name lets us welcome you the next time you visit the Site.

If you want to disable cookies, most browsers will permit you to do so. Please note that certain features of the Anunta Site will not be available once cookies are disabled. The Anunta Products are not currently configured to respond to browsers' “Do Not Track” signals.

We also gather some information automatically and store it in log files. This information may include IP addresses, browser type and language, Internet service provider (ISP), referring and exit websites and applications, operating system, date and time stamp, clickstream data, state change information, and metadata.

We use this information to understand and analyze trends, to administer the services and Products, to learn about user behavior on the Site, to improve our Product and services, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. Anunta may use this information in our marketing services.

In some of our email messages, we use a “click-through URL” linked to content on the Anunta Site. When customers click one of these URLs, they pass through a separate web server before arriving at the destination page on the Site. We track this click-through data to help us determine interest in particular topics and measure the effectiveness of our customer communications. If you prefer not to be tracked in this way, you should not click text or graphic links in the email messages.

Pixel tags enable us to send email messages in a format customers can read, and they tell us whether mail has been opened. We may use this information to reduce or eliminate messages sent to customers.

3. Disclosure to Third Parties

3.1 Service Providers

Anunta shares personal information with companies who provide services such as information processing, extending credit, fulfilling customer orders, delivering Products to you, managing and enhancing customer data, providing customer service, assessing your interest in our Products and services, and conducting customer research or satisfaction surveys. These companies are obligated to protect your information and may be located wherever Anunta operates.

3.2 Strategic Partners

At times Anunta may make certain personal information available to strategic partners that work with Anunta to provide Products and services, or that help Anunta market to customers. Personal information will only be shared by Anunta to provide or improve our Products, and services; it will not be shared with third parties for their marketing purposes.

3.3 Others

It may be necessary ‐ by law, legal process, litigation, or requests from public and governmental authorities within or outside your country of residence ‐ for Anunta to disclose your personal information. We may also disclose information about you if we determine that for purposes of national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary or appropriate.

We may also disclose information about you if we determine that disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce our terms and conditions or protect our operations or users. Additionally, in the event of a reorganization, merger, or sale we may transfer any and all personal information we collect to the relevant third party.

4. Protection of Personal Information

Anunta takes the security of your personal information very seriously. When your personal information is stored by Anunta, we use computer systems with limited access housed in facilities using physical security measures. Your stored data is stored in encrypted form including when we utilize third party storage.

Anunta is committed to securing your personal information. We take appropriate technological and organizational measures to help protect your personal information from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. Anunta complies with applicable data protection, privacy, and security breach notification laws.

Some of the ways in which Anunta protects your personal information include:

  • We encrypt your Content when it is stored at rest in our data centers.
  • We protect sensitive information with encryption during transmission over the public Internet.
  • We keep the servers on which personal information is stored in a controlled environment with limited access.
  • We maintain a variety of compliance and security policies and programs.

When you use some Anunta Products, services, or applications or post on a Anunta forum, chat room, or social networking service, the personal information and content you share is visible to other users and can be read, collected, or used by them. You are responsible for the personal information you choose to share or submit in these instances. For example, if you list your name and email address in a forum posting, that information is public. Please take care when using these features.

We use physical, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your personal information consistent with ISO 27001:2013. However, despite these controls, we cannot completely ensure or warrant the security of your personal information.

5. Integrity and Retention of Personal Information

We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Statement unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

6. Access to Personal Information

You can confirm that your contact information and preferences are up to date by logging in to your account through the Site. For other personal information we hold, we will provide you with a copy of such information upon your request. You may also request that we correct inaccurate data or delete data about you if Anunta is not required to retain it by law or for legitimate business purposes. We may decline to process requests that are frivolous or vexatious, jeopardize the privacy of others, are extremely impractical, or for which access is not otherwise required by local law. Access, correction, or deletion requests can be made through by contacting Anunta (see Section 9, below).

7. Children

We do not knowingly collect, use or disclose personal information from children without verifiable parental consent. If we learn that we have collected the personal information of a child, without first receiving verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete the information as soon as possible. Location-Based Services To provide location-based services on Anunta Products, Anunta and our partners and licensees may collect, use, and share precise location data, including the real-time geographic location of your computer, browser, or Anunta device. Where available, location-based services may use GPS, Bluetooth, and your IP address, along with crowd-sourced Wi-Fi hotspot and cell tower locations, and other technologies to determine your devices' approximate location. Unless you provide consent, this location data is collected anonymously in a form that does not personally identify you and is used by Anunta and our partners and licensees to provide and improve location-based products and services. For example, your device may share its geographic location with application providers when you opt in to their location services.

Some location-based services offered by Anunta require your personal information for the feature to work.

8. Third-Party Sites and Services

In order to function, Anunta Products, applications, and services may contain or permit links to third-party websites, products, and services. Our Products and services may also use or offer products or services from third parties ‐ for example, a third-party service developed using our Products. Information collected by third parties, which may include such things as location data or contact details, is governed by their privacy practices. We encourage you to learn about the privacy practices of those third parties.

10. Updates to This Privacy Statement

Anunta may update its Privacy Statement from time to time. When we change the policy in a material way, a notice will be posted on our Site along with the updated Privacy Statement. Changes to the Privacy Statement will be deemed to have been accepted by you on your continued use of our Products or Site following the effective date of the changes.
